Jobs: Posted 26 Feb 09 CITY OF SAN DIEGO The City of San Diego desires to enter in to an Agreement with the selected person or institution to deliver services specified in the Request for Proposal (#9627-09-V) found at the City’s Purchasing website: "http://www.sandiego.gov/bids-contracts/" (go to “Bids Available for Download,” “Contractual Services,” “Miscellaneous”). The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system currently in place pairs Fire-Rescue Department first responder (engine and truck company) paramedics with an Emergency Medical Technician and paramedic staffed ambulance (contracted medical transportation provider) to respond to medical emergencies. This CAAS accredited Advanced Life Support (ALS) system responds to approximately 95,000 calls per year. The City has a nationally accredited dispatch center which utilizes the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS). The Medical Director works closely with Quality Assurance/ Quality Improvement staff for both the City and the Medical Transportation provider. This individual oversees curriculum and provides regular in-service Continuing Education for the Paramedic workforce.
